GRAND SUPER BUFFET

Surprisingly pleasant buffet meal. Grand Super Buffet has been open for about 20 years in Rochester. While its name is certainly difficult to live up to, we were happy to find a decent buffet selection and overall flavourful Asian American dishes. It’s a spacious and dated interior that won’t win points for ambience but hits on value, ingredient quality and taste. With it not being packed, dinner service was reasonably attentive in cleaning away our buffet plates. Weekend adult buffet ($17.99) featured a large array of over 100 items across 6 stations plus a sushi bar. Hot or warm dishes such as the Mongolian pork, BBQ spareribs & Cajun crawfish were relatively well-seasoned and the cheese-infused stuffed clam, spinach & crab rangoon were all fun to try. The sushi had a lot of rice filler, and some dishes such as the steamed clam & whole tilapia stayed out too long and were tough. Following the mains, the fruit station had sweet watermelon and pineapple that was too good to pass up on despite us being nearly full! There were also some roll cake and Asian fritters among the many deep fried items. Some dinner guests opted for the basic ice cream. We finished the meal with a few fo

Grand Super Buffet has improved significantly under the current ownership. Compared with the previous owner, the food quality is noticeably better. The dishes taste fresher, the buffet stations are kept well stocked, and there is a wider variety of options available. During my recent visit, the food was hot, flavorful, and regularly refilled. The sushi and seafood selections were especially impressive, and the restaurant felt cleaner and better organized than before. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. It’s great to see the positive changes that have been made. If you haven’t visited in a while, I would definitely recommend giving Grand Super Buffet another try. The improvement in quality is obvious, and it’s now one of the better buffet options in the Rochester area.

We are here on a group tour, compare to the other buffet restaurants that we had, this is far more better. Food is fresh, taste better and filled up once the trays are emptied. Good service and spacious place.

The sushi was fresh and delicious, and there was a really wide range of selections for everyone. We especially appreciated the fresh cut fruit and salad bar, and all of the food stayed fully stocked. The only downside was that we felt a bit rushed while eating. We weren’t overstaying or lingering, but staff came by multiple times asking about payment while we were still trying to finish our meal. Other than that, the food itself was very good and we would likely return.

Came here as part of my 2D1N Niagara Falls tour. The food here tasted so much better than the other Chinese buffet place I was brought to. At least I could taste the efforts made by the chefs. Here has a wide variety of cooked food and finger foods, western and Asian. For the Chinese dishes, there seems to be some dishes from southern China which better suited my taste buds.
